Things didn’t take long. In less than a week, the Cotal gearbox that we had sent to Auto Classique Touraine, came back to us.
It has been completely dismantled, revised, the aspect of some gear teeth has been corrected. But the most important thing is that the noise (the “singing”) that had worried us was not due to any internal damage of the gearbox. The gearbox is in very good working condition.
We reassembled the gearbox this Friday and of course, we immediately took the car for a test drive. We even shot a short movie.
The opinions are divided: David thinks that it sings like before and I think that it has dropped a tone.
I hope that the video will help us to decide. I will publish it soon.
But anyway, the important thing is that the box has been checked and revised.
