Extremely rare detail on the Delahaye 135MS Vedette #800486: the door handles are invisible, hidden in the side moldings.
However, this choice makes the restoration particularly delicate. In particular, the exact location of the rods had to be retraced on the bodywork.
They themselves had to be restored.
And adjustments are tricky, especially where the handle and rod meet. No amount of play is acceptable, which requires remanufacturing parts of the mechanism itself.
Now we have to plane the wood on the top of the door so that the quarter window can open and pass to the other door.
