VEDETTE CHAPRON – 1947
An unexpected find
One fine day, even though I had decided not to expand our small fleet any further, an unexpected discovery came along: a Delahaye 135MS convertible “Vedette,” essentially a 2-seater convertible by Chapron. It’s not just rare; it’s also incredibly beautiful.
On the trail of a rare masterpiece
I had seen one before with a very famous collector in New Jersey, discovered another at the Mullin Museum, and my research led me to another (green) one in California, but no more. In any case, the number of units produced is undoubtedly fewer than 10, probably around 6 to 7.
The future of the Vedette
Currently, Patrick Delage’s teams are finishing the restoration. The plan is to have it up and running by next spring. In my opinion, the Vedette is one of Henri Chapron’s most magnificent creations.
