T23 Baby – 1939
Vibrant and Agile
A Strategic Acquisition
We acquired this T23 with the aim of having a reference model for the restoration of the other ‘Baby’ in the collection (the one bodied by Henri Chapron.)
Both cars likely rolled out of the Suresnes workshops at around the same time, one bearing the number 93.261 and the other 93.267, and were expected to be, in all likelihood, identical apart from the bodywork.
But in reality, this T23 has a unique feature: it is equipped with a so-called ‘short’ rear axle.
In other words, it possesses greater agility, making it very enjoyable to drive on winding roads.
Dubbed the "Fighter Jet"
One of its drivers, after a first test, surprised by its responsiveness, once dubbed it a ‘fighter jet.’ The nickname has stuck.
